Great article on Miguel Angel Asturias and Quetzaltenango, I had a friend who studied medical spanish there a few years ago and loved it. If i'm allowed I'd like to add a recommendation for the school Utatlan, it's right in the center of Xela, is well run and organized but super friendly. I had one-on-one classes too, and my 2 teachers were great. I felt it had a bit more of a younger, relaxed vibe than MAA and the activities were awesome. their website is www.spanishxela.com
